Who is this guy?

Do you really wanna know?

Born in New Zealand some time back. Went to Maori Hill Primary School then Kaikorai Valley High before joining the RNZAF as an NZCE Airman Cadet in 1968. Graduated 1972 with an NZCE in Aeronautical Engineering. Then embarked on the typical Kiwis “Big Trip Overseas”.

Got to see quite a few places, and spent a while in the U.K. “home” as it was refered to by many New Zealanders in those days, before travelling on to New York and then to Canada by bus!!

This trip is presently on hold (has been for the last 34 years).
Met my dear wife Judy not long after arriving in Ontario and we have been happily married since 1976.

After travelling around New Zealand and the pacific in 1979 I started Precision Sportscar and for the next 23 years grew the business and helped raise our 2 boys Drew and Robin.

  1. Hi, Very useful info, especially about the screen pillars.
As regards steering boxes BN4, what BMC vehicles were they taken from?
I am rebuilding a BN4 which I bought as a complete box of bits 27 years ago and I need a RHD steering box, have you seen the price of new ones?
    keep up the good work

    1. Hi Glynne, sorry I can’t help you with any RHD steering components for Healeys. As there are now many more RHD Healeys than were ever originally manufactured the chances of ever finding used RHD parts is virtually nil.
I know Steve Pike in Australia had quite a selection of re manufactured RHD steering parts. He may be worth a try mclassic@bacchusmarsh.net.au

  2. Michael hope you are still active selling bits I have an Austin Healey 100 4 BN1 eng no 222572 and am interseted if you have any parts left for this vehicle. I hail from South Africa but am an importer of kitchenware and so could use this expertise if you had anything to sell to me.
    Regards,
    Steve.

  6. Hello Michael, I see you’ve met Louis…remember that invite from our club to come to Québec city with the 100s, back in 2002? Louis was to be a guest speaker with his 4000 project. Nice to know both of you finally got together.

Your suspension project is great stuff to read. Good luck with that!
